• Link deep, not just to the homepage. Internal links pointing to pages a few levels deep help search engines discover and prioritize crawling those pages, instead of leaving them to rely on the sitemap alone.
• Use descriptive anchor text instead of generic phrases like "click here" or "read more". Anchor text gives search engines context about what the destination page covers, and wastes that signal when it's generic.
• Watch where nofollow shows up on your own internal links. It tells search engines not to pass ranking signal through that link, which is rarely what you want for links that stay within your own site.
