Overview

What is the Keyword Analyzer?

The Keyword Analyzer is a free tool that reads the actual visible text on any public page — not the raw HTML markup — and works out which words and phrases genuinely dominate the content. It surfaces your total word count, a ranked list of the highest-frequency terms with their density, and whether your apparent primary keyword shows up in the two spots search engines weigh most heavily: the title tag and the H1 heading. Instead of guessing what a page is "about" from the outside, you get the same read a search engine's parser effectively gets.

It exists because on-page relevance is easy to lose track of as content gets edited over time. A page can drift away from its intended target keyword after a few rounds of copy changes, or end up unintentionally repeating a term so often it reads as stuffing. Running a quick scan — on your own pages or a competitor's — shows you exactly what a page's word-level focus actually is right now, which is the fastest way to catch a keyword that's thin, missing from key tags, or overused before it affects rankings.

Methodology

How this data is collected

When you submit a URL, the tool fetches the page's live HTML and strips out scripts, styles, navigation boilerplate, and markup tags to isolate the text a human reader would actually see on the page. That visible text is tokenized into individual words, stop words like "the" and "and" are filtered out, and the remaining terms are counted to calculate frequency and density — the percentage each term makes up of the total word count. The title tag and H1 heading are pulled separately and cross-checked against the top-ranked keyword to flag whether your primary term is actually present in both.

The analysis reflects the page's HTML response at the moment you run the scan, so it does not execute JavaScript or render client-side content the way a browser would — if your primary content is injected purely client-side, make sure it's also present in the initial HTML so both this tool and most search engine crawlers can see it. Nothing about the page's content is stored after your report is generated; each scan runs independently and on demand.

Tips

Best practices for on-page keywords

A few habits worth keeping before you consider a page's targeting done.

  • Keep keyword density under roughly 3%. Repeating a term far more often than natural language would reads as stuffing to search engines, and can drag a page's ranking down instead of helping it.
  • Make sure your primary keyword appears naturally in the title tag. It's one of the strongest relevance signals a search engine reads, and skipping it means relying entirely on weaker, body-text-only signals.
  • Use your primary keyword in the H1 heading too. Along with the title tag, the H1 is one of the clearest on-page signals of what a page is actually about, both to readers and to search engines.
  • Write enough real content to support the topic. Thin pages under roughly 300 words rarely have enough depth to rank for anything competitive, no matter how well-placed the keyword is.
